Can traveling help you be a better graphic designer? What are the benefits of traveling? How far do you have to travel for it to benefit you? What motivates people to travel? When making the poster I asked these questions, and did research. Which led me to look at famous landmarks, and realized that many of my classmates have never seen the Statue of Liberty. Through many drafts and edits, I was able to create the message that I wanted to share with viewers.
I created Five typefaces, that would represent so form of travel and art. Making these typefaces out of postcards, coins, foreign currency, sea shells, and my handwriting clipping masked with a sunrise picture I took in the Bahamas. After cleaning these typefaces I chose to use the sunrise one I named Bahama Bound, in my poster.
In my process work, this is my first round of drafts. For this poster it went through many different phases, seeing which worked best.
This is my second round of drafts, which have more of a general direction to them, after seeing what was working and what wasn't.
